The Falkland Stampede has been cancelled for the first time in the rodeo's 102-year history.

Initially rescheduled for Aug. 28 to 30 after being postponed from the May long weekend when it is traditionally held, stampede organizers have announced via Facebook the rodeo will not be happening in 2020.

This would have been the 102 year for the Falkland Stampede.

"This will be the first year the small town of Falkland has not seen a stampede since its inception," reads the Facebook post.

Organizers are planning for the stampede to return May 22 to 24, 2021.
