Explosive device detonated east of Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - Police are looking for information after an explosive device was detonated east of Kamloops this morning.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says at approximately 7:05 a.m. today, Dec. 13, an improvised explosive device was detonated on the shoulder of Dallas Drive between Hood Road and Sonora Road, near Monte Creek.

The blast, smoke and fire that came from it was witnessed by a nearby resident who called police.

Shelkie says there is evidence a vehicle was in the area at the time of the explosion. The police want to know who was involved in this act. 

Shelkie says at this time it appears no one was injured.
