KELOWNA - The fourth annual Third Space Family Festival will overtake the Kelowna RCMP's parking lot for an outdoor party today.

To raise funds for mental health support in the community, Third Space Life Charity and the Kelowna RCMP host the family festival presented by Reuter Real Estate and Landmark District from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29.

“We are so fortunate to live in a country with laws, peace and civility. The RCMP play a huge role allowing us to live in freedom and we want to show our gratitude by celebrating the work they do in our community through this event," said Ken Stober, Third Space Life Charity's founder.

The all-ages event will see a barbecue by Start Fresh, face painting, food, games, a fitness challenge with The Women's Place and the RCMP, and a basketball game with RBC and the Okanagan College Coyotes, and a demonstration with the RCMP K9 Unit.

As part of a 30-day initiative each October, the event looks to inspire gratitude and highlight the communities "unsung heroes." Last year saw an estimated 1,500 attendees.

Admission is by donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Third Space Community Care Program, which provides affordable clinical counselling to those in need.
