The Village of Chase and the Township of Spallumcheen have both rescinded the evacuation alerts for those communities this afternoon.

The Shuswap community of Chase originally implemented the evacuation alert on Friday, Aug. 6, due to the White Rock Lake wildfire burning nearby. The alert was rescinded this afternoon, Aug. 9, but it may be reinstated if conditions change. For the latest on evacuation alerts and orders in Chase go here.

In Spallumcheen, the evacuation alert for the rural community north of Vernon was also rescinded this afternoon, but the township is asking residents to have all required emergency planning in place for their homes and families. For the latest on evacuation alerts or order in Spallumcheen go here.

The White Rock Lake wildfire did not see significant growth overnight and crews have been taking advantage of cooler temperatures in the region with precipitation.

According to the B.C. Wildfire Service, there is contingency machine guard being built along the Duck Range Road south of Pritchard and no ignitions are being planned for any part of the fire at this time.
