PENTICTON - A series of evacuation alerts have been rescinded in the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen.

Homes around three creeks south of Oliver — the Tinhorn, Hester and Testalinden creeks —have been taken off the evacuation alert list after weeks of concern.

The regional district rescinded the alerts for nearly 50 addresses according to a press release.

Along Testalinden Creek:

  • 511, 545, 555, 579, 583, 589, 598, 599 Testalinden Pl.
  • 4472, 4444 Golden Mile Dr.
  • 4535, 4523, 4522, 4508 Highway 97
  • 308 Road 15

Along Hester Creek:

  • 4898, 545, 555, 583, 589, 598, 599 Mariposa Rd.
  • 316, 336, 337, 352, 371, 386, 443, 466, 468, 470, 4472 Road 11

Along Tinhorn Creek:

  • 450 Road 15
  • 152, 212, 238, 242, 250, 278, 280, 292, 298, 306, 350 Road 9.

The regional district is reminding people to stay vigilant and keep back from creeks and rivers because banks are being undermined by the high water flow.

Sandbags should remain in place for now, as the threat isn’t over, regional district administration advises, and people should follow local government instruction for when and how to dispose of the sandbags.
