The current weather conditions have stalled activity on the White Rock Lake wildfire and allowed the Township of Spallumcheen in the North Okanagan to remove the evacuation alert.
While the wildfire continues to burn out of control, the cooler temperatures and higher humidity have put on a damper on the fire’s behaviour.
The township says it is still a good idea to make sure residents are ready to evacuate should the blaze flare up.
The BC Wildfire Service says the White Rock Lake fire remains out of control and evacuation orders continue for the communities of Monte Lake and Westwold.
