PENTICTON - Campers evacuated from Okanagan Lake Provincial Park by the Mount Eneas wildfire will be allowed back into the site temporarily this afternoon.
The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre says campers will be allowed back into the campground from noon to 3 p.m. today, July 20, to pick up their belongings.
Campers will need to check with the park operator and bring two pieces of identification, officials say.
The campground remains under an evacuation order.
The north and south campgrounds in the provincial park were hastily evacuated Wednesday night following the sudden issue of an evacuation order that was not preceded by an alert.
