WINNIPEG - Winnipeg's health authority is investigating after two patients died on their doorsteps shortly after being discharged.
Arlene Wilgosh, head of the authority, says both patients were discharged from Grace Hospital and sent home in cabs around the new year.
She says both people died before they made it inside their homes.
One man was found frozen on his doorstep due to a heart condition while the other was found on a sidewalk by a passing driver.
Wilgosh says both cases are being investigated as critical incidents and the authority is looking for answers.
She says neither patient had close family in Winnipeg and were given taxi chits.
