Drivers are being warned of foggy conditions and near zero visibility on parts of the Okanagan Connector and Coquihalla Highway today.

A stagnant weather pattern is responsible for the dense fog, which is affecting the Coquihalla Highway from Merritt to Kamloops, and the Okanagan Connector, from Merritt to Kelowna, Environment Canada says.

The fog is expected to persist through today, Jan. 15, and tonight and then likely dissipate Tuesday morning.

“If travelling, be prepared for areas of near zero visibility,” Environment Canada warns.

Foggy conditions also challenged drivers yesterday, Jan. 14, on the Coquihalla Highway.

Environment Canada also reminds drivers that weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
