Two young people had to be picked up by their guardians from the cop shop in Kamloops after they allegedly robbed a liquor store and bear sprayed the employees.
Officers and a police dog responded to the call on Valleyview Drive at around 4:50 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 13, according to an RCMP press release. The suspects allegedly stole liquor and when they tried to get away bear sprayed staff members. RCMP do not identify the business.
“Police were provided with a description of the suspects and quickly located one nearby,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “Shortly after, police found and arrested the second suspect in a restaurant along the highway frontage road.
Both were lodged in cells and released to a guardian with a court date and conditions, RCMP said.
