The South Okanagan General Hospital’s emergency department won’t be open tonight because of unexpected limited physician availability.
Interior Health issued a release stating the emergency department will be closed from 6 p.m. tonight, July 30, until 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
The next closest hospital is in Penticton.
During a week in March 2023, the emergency department in Oliver was closed for a combined 20 hours.
