Legendary Canadian figure skater Elvis Stojko is joining the cast of Stars on Ice for holiday shows in Kelowna and Kamloops this December.
Stojko, a two-time Olympic silver medalist, three-time world champion and seven-time Canadian champion, will be joined by a stellar lineup of skaters, according to a media release issued today, Sept. 20.
The cast includes Olympic medalist and Canadian champion Kaetlyn Osmond, dance champions Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje, two-time Canadian champion and Olympian Keegan Messing, two-time world medalist and four-time Japanese champion Satoko Miyahara, two-time Canadian champion Nam Nguyen, four-time U.S. champion and Olympic bronze medalist Jeremy Abbott, two-time U.S. champion and Olympic bronze medalist Gracie Gold and Canadian junior champion and social media sensation Elladj Baldé.
Kaitlyn Weaver will also be the choreographer for this show.
This year's Stars on Ice is called Let it Show, Let it Show, Let it Show!
“Stars on Ice continues to be a trailblazer in figure skating, offering fans across North America the unique opportunity to witness some of the world’s most accomplished and artistically gifted champions in both individual and ensemble performances,” a release said.
Tickets for the Thursday, Dec. 12 show at Prospera Place in Kelowna and Sandman Centre in Kamloops, which start at $25 plus service charges, for go on sale on Friday, Sept. 27. You can buy tickets at the Stars on Ice website here.
Originally founded in 1986 by Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton in the United Stated, Stars on Ice has grown and expanded to Canada. There have been over 300 shows in the past 30 years.
