Electric wheelchair stolen in downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS - A handicapped man is without a way of getting around after thieves stole his electric wheelchair this morning.

The black wheelchair has hand controls which do not currently work but the wheelchair can still be pushed manually. It was stolen from West Seymour Street near the B.C. Lottery Corp. building and is the sole source of transportation for the man, RCMP say in a release.

If you have seen the wheelchair you are asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
