ENDERBY - A 72-year-old man has been arrested in Enderby, after a suspected arson this week.
On Nov. 27 just before 8:30 p.m. an officer was on patrol in Enderby when they spotted a shed on fire behind a residence in the 1600 block of George Street.
Vernon RCMP says in a news release that the officer immediately called the Enderby fire department. Police made sure occupants in surrounding houses were safe while firefighters tackled the blaze.
There were no injuries from the fire, but RCMP say the shed was destroyed and some damage was done to a nearby truck.
The investigation led to RCMP arresting a 72-year-old man that night for arson. He's been released from custody on a promise to appear for provincial court at a later time. RCMP are not releasing his name at this point.
Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to call the Enderby RCMP Detachment at 250-838-6818 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
