Ebus increases service to routes across B.C.

Ebus, which transports travellers from Vancouver to cities in the B.C. Interior and vice versa, has announced it is increasing its service from four to seven days a week on all its routes.

The increase in service comes into effect Aug. 17, according to an Ebus news release. The bus service is currently conducting a cleanup program to ensure the safety of passengers and staff during COVID-19.

“Local travel between urban centres is necessary for people to access medical appointments, employment, educational, training, and many other essential services,” John Stepovy with Ebus said in the release.

"Since we continue to exercise social distancing on board as part of our Safely Clean program and are not travelling with full coaches, we need to offer more schedules to accommodate the travel needs of the province.”

Here is a list of the features in the Safely Clean program as provided by Ebus:

• Face masks are mandatory for all passengers
• Ebus face masks, hand sanitizers, and gloves are available for purchase for those who don’t have their own
• Passenger screening questions are asked of everyone prior to every trip; regarding international travel, health symptoms, and face mask usage
• Social distancing is being practiced in offices, during check-in, and onboard
• Enhanced daily cleaning protocols

The new schedule is available online here.
