KELOWNA - Everyone is invited to a free Easter dinner at Kelowna’s Gospel Mission this weekend.

Not only those who temporarily live at the 90-bed shelter in downtown Kelowna are invited to the Easter dinner on Saturday, April 20, from noon to 6 p.m., but everyone in the community in need.

MLAs Norm Letnick and Steve Thomson, along with Kelowna city councillors Mohini Singh and Maxine DeHart will be part of the volunteer team serving the meals.

“I am constantly encouraged by the generosity of our donors,” Randy Benson, executive director of Kelowna’s Gospel Mission, said in a news release. “As well as providing the Easter meals, they write notes of encouragement on place-mats that will brighten up the tables. I love seeing the impact of Easter played out daily in the lives of those we serve.”

The traditional Easter meal consists of ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and all the fixings, followed by pie.

Anyone wishing to donate, volunteer or give an in-kind gifts can stop by at 251 Leon Ave., call 250-763-3737 or go to Kelowna's Gospel Mission website here.
