Early November snow is piling up at higher elevations throughout the Thompson-Okanagan and the local ski resorts are making opening day plans.

Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops is slated to open on Nov. 18 for the season, while Harper Mountain in Kamloops has a projected opening day of Dec. 16, although that's dependent on weather.

The Interior's largest ski resort, Kelowna's Big White Ski Resort has a tentative opening date of Nov. 23, but it could be sooner with this year's early November snowfall.

Silver Star Resort near Vernon anticipates a Nov. 18 opening day for the Nordic facilities with a Nov. 23 opening day for the alpine area.

Apex Mountain Resort west of Penticton has a Dec. 2 opening planned. Baldy Mountain Resort east of Oliver is making preparations to open on Dec. 8.
