Early morning rollover on Highway 3A

Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department responded to a semi rollover on Highway 3 early this morning, Aug. 18, 2018.

PENTICTON - A truck driver is lucky to have escaped serious injury following a semi trailer rollover this morning.

Kaleden Volunteer Firefighters were called to the scene around 4 a.m. this morning, fire department spokesperson Sergej Sinicin said.

The semi left Highway 3A about six km south of Kaleden near the top of the S curves.

Sinicin said the driver was able to escape the collision but was transported by B.C. Ambulance.

Members of the Ministry of Environment’s hazmat team were also on site dealing with a fuel spill.

The truck is believed to have been carrying produce, and narrowly missed colliding with a culvert when it left the roadway.

Traffic has been reduced to a single northbound lane around the incident site.

A semi truck rollover occurred on Highway 3A near the top of the S curves about six kilometres south of the junction of Highway 3A and Highway 97 this morning, Aug. 18, 2018.
