An early morning fire at Country Auto in Kamloops has been deemed suspicious by RCMP.

Kamloops RCMP received a call at around 6 a.m. today, Oct. 25, about multiple cars ablaze at the North Shore used car dealership.

iNFOnews.ca was tipped off that RCMP officers found a jerry can in a nearby alley and Sergent Saseha Fesenko with Kamloops RCMP confirms that is true.

“There’s no reason for fumes to start on fire in a parking lot,” Fesenko says.

Three used cars were damaged during the blaze but the main building sustained no damage.

“There were some suspects caught on video and were still investigating that end of things,” Fesenko says.

Officers have been unable to determine the suspect’s identity as the investigation is still in its infancy, according to Fesenko.

Kamloops Fire Rescue was not immediately available for comment.
