Kamloops photographer Jerry Paluck caught some shots this week of eagles watching spawning salmon and they made an impressively spooky sight just in time for Halloween.

Paluck has been honing his photography skills in Kamloops for the past two or three years and says he always wanted to get shots of the eagles in a dead tree he's often driven by.

“Every time I drive past it either I don’t have my camera, or I have to work, but this time I thought I would go and take a trip and actually photograph them,” Paluck said.

He said he has seen the eagles there for years, waiting and watching for their next meal. When he saw them on Halloween, he decided to go for some black and white photos to create an ominous vibe.

“Every year they’re on that one tree, I guess they’re just waiting for the salmon,” Paluck said. “It’s at Hook Road, just at the bottom by the river... A couple of miles past the Wildlife Park.”

Paluck often travels around B.C. taking shots of wildlife and used a Canon 70 to get these shots. He shared them on the Facebook page Kamloops Photographers.
