Kelowna RCMP stopped a vehicle earlier this month resulting in two individuals getting arrested, a handgun and drugs were seized and their vehicle was impounded.
On Dec. 1, around 11:30 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP Proactive Enforcement Unit stopped a vehicle on Fleming Drive at Leathead Road after it was seen leaving a nearby problem residence, according to a release from the RCMP.
In this vehicle, a male passenger, known to the police, was arrested for failing to abide by his curfew. The female driver was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
During the arrest, officers found and seized a handgun as well as an important quantity of illicit drugs including methamphetamine, fentanyl and Dilaudid pills.
While the driver was released on scene after the vehicle was impounded for pre-existing Motor Vehicle Act charges, the passenger remained in custody and is scheduled to appear in court, tomorrow, Dec. 20, in Kelowna.
