Kamloops RCMP are searching for the driver of a stolen pickup truck after a collision involving a B.C. Transit bus on Tuesday night.

Police responded to the incident on Dec. 3 after a pickup truck struck the transit bus near 12 Street and Lethbridge Avenue in North Kamloops, according to Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Mat Van Laer. No one was hurt.

Police say the pickup truck, driven by a male driver, had been reported stolen on Nov. 13 and when police responded to the collision shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the driver fled on foot.

RCMP set up perimeters in the area and brought in a police dog to help with the investigation but were unsuccessful in locating the driver, Van Laer says.

There were no reported injuries and the investigation remains open, he says.
