Police are investigating a single vehicle collision that took place on Backstreet Boulevard Saturday night, Nov. 12, 2016.

PENTICTON - Penticton RCMP are still looking for the driver following a single vehicle crash in the downtown area on the weekend.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a Hyundai Sonata suffered significant front end damage in a crash on Backstreet Boulevard on Saturday night, Nov. 12. He says the car left the road and drove onto a sidewalk where it struck a retaining wall, spun around and hit a fence.

The vehicle’s air bags deployed but the driver, and lone occupant, was not found at the scene, where blood, drug paraphernalia and a strong odour of liquor was detected.

Wrigglesworth says the vehicle was registered to a Quebec owner, but was had stolen B.C. license plates.
