Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in West Kootenay

The driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the West Kootenay on Monday and a passenger was injured.

Emergency crews were called to the crash in the 1400 block of Highway 31 near Queens Bay along Kootenay Lake at approximately 12:30 a.m., May 5, according to an RCMP media release.

Despite lifesaving techniques performed by first responders the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP have not released the identities of the driver or the passenger as the investigation continues.
