After refusing to stop for the Kamloops RCMP during a routine traffic stop, a driver was later found at an accident at the intersection of Transquille Road and Fortune Drive.
On April 24 at approximately 5:30 p.m. a member of the Kamloops RCMP attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Tranquille Road. when a driver refused to stop, according to the RCMP in a press release.
"To protect public safety the officer immediately stopped his police vehicle. A short time later the officer came upon an accident involving the vehicle at the intersection of Tranquille Road and Fortune Drive. The (woman) fled the scene and was arrested a short time later at a residence nearby," according to the news release.
Police are requesting anyone who witnessed the accident to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
