Dozens gather for anti-vaccine card protest in downtown Kelowna

Dozens of people upset with the B.C. vaccine card program showed up to protest outside the Interior Health offices in downtown Kelowna, Monday, Sept. 13, 2021.

Dozens of anti-vaccine card protesters showed up in front of the Interior Health office building in downtown Kelowna this afternoon.

The roughly 200 peaceful protestors showed up on Doyle Avenue outside the Interior Health office building today, Sept. 13, to show their displeasure with the B.C. vaccine card program, which took effect today.

Some carried signs that read, “Coming to a court near you. Nuremberg 2021” and “Freedom is choice.”

Numerous drivers passing by honked in support.

There was a police presence at the event, but RCMP officers stayed well back from the protest.

Hundreds of people upset with the provincial vaccine card plan protested in front of Kelowna General Hospital, Sept. 1, which had a negative impact on morale among health-care workers.
