DNA evidence leads police to suspected thief

OSOYOOS - A man was arrested Sunday following an investigation into multiple break and enters in the Osoyoos area.

Scott Paquette, 47, of no fixed address was linked by DNA to a break-in of a fifth wheel trailer on Lakeshore Drive that happened in January. An arrest warrant was issued April 11 and he was picked up in Osoyoos April 13.

Paquette was held in custody and appeared in court the following day. He plead guilty and received a 90-day jail sentence.
