Peachland residents are getting some of their first looks at a new beachfront development.
Porchlight Developments Inc. is inviting feedback on the proposed 3976 Beach Avenue development during a virtual town hall meeting on Jan. 7 at 6 p.m.
The potential development features six luxury beach-side bungalows and three European hill town-style buildings, on the Todd’s RV and Camping site.
To complete the development of the campground to a resort, the developer has to put in an application to rezone the site, the developers' website said.

“We feel that this development proposal strongly followed the guidance of the (Official Community Plan) in that we are stepping residences away from Beach Ave, we have screened virtually all parking from pedestrian view, and we have created new Beachfront Public Park Space,” according to the website.

The owner of Todd’s RV and Camping, Graham Todd has been trying to sell the park for six years but officially listed it 3.5 years ago.
He also tried to get various levels of government to buy it and either maintain it as a camping spot or create a waterfront park, however, there weren’t any takers.
Todd believes the campground is the only remaining waterfront camping spot on the Okanagan Lake.
Now a developer is interested in the land, and “has a couple of visions,” was all Todd was able to say about the potential deal, as the sale is contingent on getting rezoning by the District of Peachland.
