Vancouver architects behind the design of Mount Boucherie Winery will be continuing the design of three highrise towers in Kelowna, the largest project in the city to date.

Water Street by the Park, to be located along Water Street and Leon Avenue, will be designed by Ciccozzi Architecture, based out of Vancouver, according to a Water Street by the Park press release.

A development permit for the development’s three towers, one of which is 42 storeys was approved by the city earlier this year and the project’s design phase and concept was completed by HDR Architecture Associates and architect Robert Cesnik.

Capitalizing on Kelowna’s growing popularity and the pandemic-inspired exodus of thousands of Canadians from large urban centres to smaller cities, developer Orchard Park Properties co-founder Anthony Beyrouti said Ciccozzi Architecture will take the project drawings through further design development and begin a consultant coordination phase to prepare drawings for the building permit application later this year, according to the press release.

“Ciccozzi Architecture’s history in Kelowna goes back 30 years. They recognize how much lakeside living improves one’s mental health and quality of life, and like us, they know that securing a lakeside property of this scale and quality is becoming an increasingly rare opportunity. It’s with great anticipation and excitement that I look forward to working with Robert’s talented team and seeing the passion and creativity they will bring to this project,” Beyrouti said in the press release.

In the Okanagan, Ciccozzi was the architect for Kelowna’s Manteo Resort Waterfront Hotel & Villas and the recently-completed Mount Boucherie Winery. They are also currently undertaking master planning work in Peachland.

Once the building permit is approved, the architects will advance the detailed drawings and further coordinate with the consultant team to issue drawings for tender, followed by issued for construction documents.  Once construction begins, Ciccozzi will provide contract administration services through to final occupancy of all buildings.
