A Kelowna man died this weekend at a popular Penticton mountain biking trail.

Search and rescue and police were called to the Three Blind Mice trail Saturday and a cyclist was found, and later died.

Singer Leah West identified the man on social media as her husband Mark West, the founder and managing broker with Epic Real Estate.

“A police officer came to my door last night to tell me he had passed away while mountain biking in Penticton,” Leah wrote.

“I still don’t have cause of death, but they think it may have been a heart attack. I haven’t been able to see him yet. I’m weeping nonstop.”

The couple has a young child together.

The Three Blind Mice area overlooks Okanagan Lake to the west and is mainly composed of ponderosa pine, rock bluffs, and grasslands. There are more than 80 trails in the network.
