KELOWNA – RCMP are investigating a death in Kelowna over the weekend they’ve deemed suspicious.
Police officers responded to an abandoned 911 call at 3 a.m. Saturday, June 24, placed from the 1900 block of Pacific Court in Kelowna, Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey says.
The officers searched the area and found the body of a 48-year old West Kelowna man along with the phone used to make the 911 call from the parking lot of an apartment building.
"RCMP have been unable to determine a clear cause of death," O'Donaghey says. The investigation is being conducted by members of the Serious Crimes Unit and an autopsy will be performed. The B.C. Coroners Service is also part of the probe.
RCMP would like to speak to a woman who was seen on video surveillance.
"In an effort to further our investigation, RCMP are seeing the public's assistance with the identity of an unknown female who police believe may possess valuable inforamtion," he says.
