Daily COVID-19 case count falls to 196 in Interior Health

There were 196 new COVID-19 cases in the Interior Health region in the past 24 hours, the lowest daily tally in about a month.

There were 661 new cases in B.C. as a whole with 237 in the Fraser Health region, 99 in Vancouver Coastal, 66 on Vancouver Island and 62 in the Northern Health region.

There were seven new deaths in the last 24 hours, including three in the Interior Health region, bringing the provincial total to 1,873, according to a health ministry news release issued today, Sept. 15.

There are 5,791 active cases of COVID in B.C. with 1,536 in Interior Health. There are 288 B.C. residents in hospital with COVID, 137 of whom are in Interior Health.

The vaccination rate for those over the age of 12 has reached 86.1% with a first dose and 78.6% with a second dose.
