KELOWNA – A 48-year-old Kelowna woman on a bicycle was involved in a crash with a small pickup truck in a Lower Mission intersection early this morning.

RCMP say the collision happened at around 7:11 a.m. today, May 28, in the intersection of Gordon Drive and DeHart Road.

Witnesses told police a Ford Ranger turned left onto Gordon Drive from DeHart Road into the path of the oncoming cyclist who was westbound on DeHart.

The Kelowna woman was taken to Kelowna General Hospital by B.C. Ambulance paramedics, according to an RCMP media release. She suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 66-year-old man from northern B.C., cooperated with police.

RCMP aren’t saying if the driver is facing any charges.

If you witnessed this collision and were unable to remain at the scene to speak with police, you are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
