Cyclist killed on Highway 97 near Kelowna

A cyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle along Highway 97.

Kelowna RCMP have closed an intersection of Old Vernon Road and Highway 97 Tuesday morning as they investigate the scene, according to a news release.

Police were called to the intersection just before 7 a.m., May 24, where the cyclist was pronounced dead on the scene.

Drivers and pedestrians should avoid the intersection as emergency crews are in the area.

Kelowna RCMP is asking witnesses and drivers with dash cam footage of the incident to contact the detachment at 250-762-3300.
