A Kelowna cyclist fell from a Kettle Valley Railway trestle and was transported to hospital yesterday.

The man fell approximately 150 feet at Trestle 13 on the trail and was rescued by the Kelowna Fire Department technical rescue team at 12:41 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 26, according to a Kelowna Fire Department media release.

The technical rescue team sent two members down by rope who assessed the man, stabilized his injuries and helped B.C. Ambulance paramedics prepare him for transport.

A helicopter extracted the patient and he was flown to Kelowna General Hospital.
