CALGARY - A Calgary woman is being accused of faking having fatal medical conditions to take in thousands of dollars in donations.

Police allege that between December 2012 and June 2013, a woman told her employer and people she worked with that she had a fatal heart condition and Stage 4 breast cancer.

The woman allegedly provided a fraudulent doctor's note to her employer.

Her co-workers and employer held fundraisers for her, which brought in $20,000.

In the summer, someone went to police about the woman's claims.

Lana Rovang, who is 32, is charged with fraud and uttering a forged document.
