Crews make progress on Cawston wildfire

CAWSTON - Firefighters are getting the upper hand on a wildfire burning near Cawston today.

The B.C. Wildfire Service says as of today, June 29, the 116 hectare fire is now 70 per cent contained.

Twenty-eight firefighters remain on site, as well as seven support staff and a helicopter.

The blaze is not considered an interface fire, although one outbuilding was destroyed.

The wildfire was discovered Tuesday, June 27.
