Crews fighting wildfire south of Armstrong

Local and wildfire firefighters are battling a blaze in the North Okanagan this afternoon.

The fire is between Vernon and Armstrong on Harris Reserve, according to a Township of Spallumcheen media release.

Firefighters from the Armstrong-Spallumcheen and BX-Swan Lake fire departments are on the scene along with B.C. Wildfire Service crews.

The Otter Lake fire was discovered today, April 26. 

The Township has opened an emergency operation centre and updates are available at its website here. No word yet if any structures are threatened or if there have been any evacuations.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
