Body of missing man found in motel crawl space; foul play ruled out

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Workers repairing floors at a motel in Kamloops, B.C., made a grisly discovery Monday — the remains of a 49-year-old man in a crawl space.

The body is that of Balwinder Singh Dhillon, who was reported missing from the Tournament Inn Motel in March.

The Inn is run by Dhillon's family and when he disappeared it was suspected he may have left to spend time with relatives and friends in the Surrey area because Dhillon had a previous history of leaving Kamloops abruptly.

A preliminary examination of the body has ruled out foul play.

The cause of death couldn't be established at the scene and the case is now in the hands of the B.C. Coroner's Service. (CFJC)
