Salmon Arm RCMP are looking for insight into what may have caused a head-on crash in Salmon Arm last night.

A black car was travelling north that left Highway 97B in the 7000 block Feb. 11 at approximately 9:15 p.m., and collided head-on with a southbound car.

"The driver of the black car was being operated by a male in his 30s from Vernon," Staff Sgt. Scott West said in a press release.

"This male had to be cut from the wreckage of his vehicle and he suffered serious injuries that required his transport to Vernon Jubilee Hospital."

The driver of the southbound car was operated by a male in his 70s from Armstrong. He was also transported to the hospital in Vernon and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was closed for some time to investigate the crash.

If you witnessed this crash please call the Salmon arm RCMP Detachment at 250-832-6044.
