KEREMEOS - RCMP are investigating a two vehicle collision in the Similkameen that claimed the life of a Keremeos man last week.
Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says the crash happened around 6 p.m. Friday, July 21 at the intersection of Ashnola Road and Highway 3, approximately two kilometres west of Keremeos.
South Okanagan Traffic Services investigation so far has revealed a GMC pickup travelling on Ashnola Road attempted to cross the highway when it was struck on the driver’s side by an eastbound Audi TT sedan.
The pickup driver was extricated by members of the Keremeos Fire Department .
Moskaluk says both drivers were taken to hospital by ambulance where the 78-year-old pickup truck driver from Keremeos succumbed to his injuries. Police haven't released his identity.
The 19-year-old Audi driver suffered non life-threatening injuries.
No word if any charges will be laid.
