Iconic mountain bike competition Crankworx is stopping at SilverStar Mountain Resort for a four-day event this summer.

“It is so great to welcome back Crankworx to SilverStar for another summer. To also add in amateur riders and spectators to watch the incredible competition happen is very exciting," Ian Jenkins of Silverstar Bike Park said in a news release.

The North Okanagan mountain resort hosted the bike competition before, stopping at SilverStar in both 2020 and 2021.

“We have been working on and perfecting, these trails, and the slopestyle course for several years now and can’t wait to get them rolling. It really is going to be something special," Jenkins said.

The slopestyle course debuted at last year's competition and was designed by local pro rider Brett Rheeder.

The Crankworx Summer Series makes two stops in Canada this year, with the second at Quebec City.

"Our Summer Series in New Zealand in December was epic and brought out an amazing mix of fast racers with some local talent that blew us away. It’s also become an amazing way to share these great riding destinations with our fans," Crankworx managing director Darren Kinnaird said. "So given that Canada is our home base, we are beyond stoked to be bringing the Summer Series to these two great destinations this year.”

Audiences can watch both pros and amateurs take off in four events starting on July 28 with dual slalom races.

Other events include Air DH, pump track and slopestyle competitions.
