For those looking to have some fun this weekend, check out this Kamloops winter block party with beer, cider, games and holiday shopping.

Victoria Street between 3rd Avenue and 4 Avenue will be shut down for the third annual Fulton Welcome Winter Block Party tomorrow, Dec. 7, from noon until 7 p.m. You can take part in pick-up ball hockey games, enjoy live music, score a photo with Santa and sip on some beers from local craft breweries.

Red Collar Brewing, Bright Eye Brewing, Alchemy Brewing Company, Iron Road Brewing and Noble Pig Brewhouse will be pouring some of their creations, and Left Field Cider will be pouring something for the cider-lovers as well. The Vic Downtown will be serving coffee and Baileys, and warm beverages for the whole family during the day.

You can get a photo with Santa between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and enjoy live music from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. There will be an urban art demonstration, ping pong, giant checkers and other games for all ages to enjoy.

On top of all the fun and drinks, you can cross some of your loved ones off the gift list. The event will feature an outdoor market and offers gift-wrapping services as well.

In previous years, the event featured food trucks, but this year organizers want to support the local restaurants in the downtown core, according to Samantha Desouza, marketing and events coordinator with the Kamloops Central Business Improvement Association. When you need to warm up and fill up, head into one of the many great eateries in downtown Kamloops.
