A Canadian Pacific Railway freight train was struck by an avalanche over the weekend.
A CP spokesperson says the incident happened on Saturday, Dec. 21, at approximately 8:30 p.m in Glacier National Park.
"Seven intermodal platforms derailed as a result of the avalanche," Canadian Pacific spokesperson Salem Woodrow says in an emailed statement.
There were no injuries to any crew members and Canadian Pacific reopened the rail line on Sunday, Dec. 22, once all track repairs and safety inspections were complete, according to Woodrow.
