COVID numbers climb to 405 in B.C.; drop slightly in Interior Health

In the past 24 hours there were 97 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Interior Health region, down from 101 the day before.

There were 405 new cases in the province as a whole, the first time in more than a week that there’s been more than 400.

There were 110 new cases in the Fraser Health region, 96 on Vancouver Island, 57 in Northern Health and 45 in Vancouver Coastal, according to a news release issued by the Province of B.C. today, Dec. 3.

There were six more deaths but none in the Interior Health region, bringing the provincial total to 2,351.

There are 3,071 active cases with 276 B.C. residents in hospital, 95 of whom are in intensive care.

The vaccination rate for those aged 12 and over with at least one dose is unchanged at 91.2% but the rate edged up to 88% for those who have two doses.

In the week from Nov. 25 to Dec. 1, 54% of new cases were people who were not vaccinated, 4% had one dose and 42% were fully vaccinated.

In terms of hospitalizations, in the last two weeks (Nov. 18 to Dec.1), 61.4% were unvaccinated, 4.5% were partially vaccinated and 34.1% were fully vaccinated.
