VICTORIA - British Columbia is reporting six more deaths from COVID-19, for a total of 2,981 fatalities during the pandemic.

The Health Ministry said Thursday that 255 people were in hospital, with 52 of them in intensive care.

That's down from 517 people hospitalized and 73 in intensive care at the beginning of the month.

The ministry says 91.4 per cent of all eligible adults have received a second dose of a vaccine while 59 per cent have had a third shot.

It says just over a quarter of the people who were hospitalized in the first three weeks of the month were not fully vaccinated.

Four health-care facilities have ongoing outbreaks, with no new ones reported in the last day.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published March 24, 2022.
