A person infected with COVID-19 was on a recent WestJet flight, according to the Kelowna International Airport.
"The Kelowna International Airport was advised by WestJet and the Public Health Agency of Canada that a passenger who flew on March 17 from Calgary to Kelowna on flight WS 3343 has tested positive for COVID-19," the airport announced in a news release.
"Passengers in the exit row are considered close contacts and may be at risk of exposure. Public health officials recommend that affected individuals self-monitor for 14 days for symptoms of cough, fever or respiratory issues. Guests are advised to contact their primary care provider, or their local public health unit if they are concerned that they may have been exposed to or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19."
All passengers who have recently travelled through YLW are advised to check and monitor WestJet’s Impacted Flights page to ensure they are aware of possible exposure to COVID-19.

"The situation is dynamic and we are working with our partners to keep passengers and our community updated as information is known. The safety of airport employees, passengers and our greater community is our top priority and the airport is following the direction of health authorities regarding best practices for public health and safety," according to YLW in the release.
Impacted flights from Vancouver to Kelowna include: Air Canada flight 8420, March 9, rows 2-6, WestJet flight 3326, March 10, all seats, and Air Canada Jazz Flight 8416, March 10, rows 12-18, and WestJet flight 3324, March 21. These flights have reported cases of COVID-19, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control.
Central Mountain Air also reported a case on flight 9M725, on March 15, flying from Kelowna to Prince George and WestJet flight 3281, from Calgary to Penticton, March 17, also had a COVID-19 case, according to the BCCDC.
