PARIS - Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris next week as part of his week-long trip to the country.

The get-together will take place on Monday and will be followed by a joint statement and a media availability.

The two men have met previously but this will be their first time together as premier and president.

Couillard will visit the Airbus plant in Toulouse on Tuesday and meet company executives.

He is also expected to meet later in the week with French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.

A key theme of the mission will be aviation and Couillard will be accompanied by many industry representatives, including Bombardier Inc. officials.

Bombardier has signed a deal to sell a majority stake in its CSeries commercial jet program to Airbus.
