KAMLOOPS - The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating after a 50-year-old man was found dead in downtown Kamloops yesterday.

Police were called to 7 Avenue between St. Paul Street and Seymour Street yesterday evening, Sept. 28.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the death is not considered suspicious.

Shelkie says another man in his 40s who was at the scene was taken to hospital with unspecified health issues.

Barb McLintock of the B.C. Coroners Service says the man was found around 5:45 p.m. in medical distress.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate him but couldn't. McLintock says the man was under the aqueduct bridge over Peterson Creek.
