CHERRYVILLE - The young woman killed following a police chase near Salmon Arm June 20 was a 21-year-old woman from Cherryville.

Her Facebook page says Courtenay Brianne Eggen worked at Total Restoration Services, attended Charles Bloom Secondary school in Lumby and studied at Okanagan College.

She was the driver and sole occupant of a car, which collided with a parked dump truck in a parking lot off Auto Road SE in Salmon Arm, just before midnight on June 20.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is being investigated by the B.C. Coroners Service and the Independent Investigations Office because police were at least somewhat involved in her death.

Police had called off a police chase after she allegedly tried to run from police after a routine traffic stop.
